A Brief History of CMQA

The CMQA was founded in 2000 by Bertha Archembault with the view to promoting, supporting and providing
education about the Canadian Longarm (and other track systems) Quilting Industry in Canada.

The purpose of the CMQA website is to act as a resource to Canadian Machine Quilters. Members are listed in the Quilters' Directory. This Directory provides information regarding their businesses, locations and the types of quilting  they provided.  The website also provides general information about machine quilting, how to work with a machine quilter and how to prepare a quilt for machine quilting.

Members' may choose to display some of their quilting talent in the Galleries.

The Maple Leaf Quilts

mapleleaf_quilts_597

These Maple Leaf Quilt Tops were pieced by the Creative Sisters and sent to each Province and Territory to be Machine Quilted on a Track System.  Each quilt is quilted in a different style, illustrating the many ways that the same pieced top can look when quilted differently.

These quilts are available to our Members to educate at local quilting shows and guilds.
