Exciting News - CMQA Workshop Series

The first of our workshop series an introduction to quilting - Quilt Potpourri with Diane Carson - was a great success!
Here's what some of the students said about it.

"I had a great time at the long arm quilting workshop.  I learned about quite a few techniques such as stitching speed and proper size needle.  Diane was very thorough and talked about so many issues we have that are not covered in manuals."  Sandra Thomas

"The workshop was excellent.  It was well organized and incredibly informative.  Having the handouts from the beginning meant I could keep additional notes along the way.  I now feel that I have the confidence to finally set up my longarm and get going.  One of the best workshops I've attended.  It was worth the drive to Zurich!"  Anne Smith, Erin ON

INTERMEDIATE WORKSHOP - The second in the series will be held (you have the choice of August 14 or 15) in Kitchener, ON, and features award-winning quilter and teacher of international standing, Grace Whiting from Ottawa.  This is a full-day lecture, demonstration and trunk show which will include handouts.  Grace will share practical information and proven practices from her "12 Years on the Rails" in the machine quilting industry.  It will be an examination of the quilting process from initially 'reading the quilt' through to completion and student participation will be encouraged.  Space is limited so signup soon!  Registration deadline is July 31/2010!

MASTER CLASS IN HERITAGE QUILTING DESIGN - Coming October 16 & 17 (1 day - you choose).  Carol Cunningham is a Quilt Artist and experienced long-arm machine quilter.  She is known for her freehand quilting techniques and heirloom qilting.  Carol has quilted thousands of custom quilts, many of which have won awards.  This is a unique opportunity to learn from an expert about quilting designs, feathers, outline quilting and the other traditional fancy work adapted to the long-arm machine, including the use of the Circle Lord.  Includes Certificate of Completion.  This workshop will take place at Carol's studio in Beamsville, ON.  We can only accept 4 students per day so get your registration in early.  These classes will fill up fast!  SORRY, this workshop is now full.  Please contact Carol directly at thequiltbatt@sympatico.ca if you are interested in a future workshop at her studio or to be put on a cancellation list.

BEGINNING TO MASTER LEVEL - Contemporary Quilting & Thread Painting - Coming to Ottawa area November 19 - 21 with Sue Patten (see ad below for details or download the registration form also below).
